People First.

Connect 936 is founded on the belief that genuine and authentic connection with people is what makes businesses thrive. Our expertise and skill sets are tools to facilitate those connections that ultimately lead to business impact.

It all began in the front seat of a Cop Car

Caitlyn Scaggs as a police officer

Our founder, Caitlyn Scaggs, has had a fantastic and dynamic career adventure that has profoundly shaped her approach to life and the way she leads Connect 936.

Caitlyn developed her communication chops as a police officer. In those early days of her career it was her ability to connect with others that kept her safe and allowed her to make a positive impact as she served the community.

And took an unexpected Plot Twist

Even though Caitlyn thought she’d always work in law enforcement, her plans changed as she started a family with her husband. She left law enforcement to pursue marketing and communications at Polymer Solutions Incorporated. There, she learned that when done right, marketing brings people together and leads to desired outcomes. This is also where she began blogging and really understanding how an integrated marketing strategy creates big results.

Then Caitlyn became an Accidental Entrepreneur

As Caitlyn’s passion for marketing grew, so did word of her successes. Soon, she began consulting over lunch or after hours. Before long, it resulted in a full-time boutique marketing agency, Blue Mobius Marketing.

Blue Mobius Marketing grew, scaled and ultimately sold over an intense 16-month period. Wow, it was a fun and special season!

And went on to become a top Communications & PR leader

Caitlyn then went to Radford University and served as AVP of University Relations & was the University Spokesperson. She was at RU for the height of the global pandemic – what an experience! She was also responsible for all marketing, communications, and public relations for the institution.

Then joined the global anti-trafficking fight

Caitlyn had an incredibly special opportunity to join New Hope Girls as their head of Justice Enterprise. As a prior board member, she was already very familiar with the people and mission of New Hope. As a staff member, she worked tenaciously in the US to support this international anti-trafficking non-profit. Much success was achieved as they enacted their mission of rescue, refuge, & restoration.

She launched her first book!

While her career adventure was unfolding, Caitlyn traditionally published her book, “Worth It & Wonderful.” She is on a mission to encourage others and her book is an extension of that mission. She travels regularly as a keynote speaker and shares messages that urge others to live with courage, purpose, gratitude, and enthusiasm.

Caitlyn is now ready to CONNECT!

For years Caitlyn has maintained a select client portfolio as “side” work to her main employment. However, in November 2024, Caitlyn knew she was being beckoned back into business ownership, consulting, and entrepreneurship. She went “all in” with Connect 936 and began supporting other businesses with her nearly 15 years of experience, master’s in Strategic Communication, and passion for helping others rise!

Curious about our name?

When Caitlyn was a police officer her unit number was 936. It serves as a reminder as to how Caitlyn learned to think clearly in crisis and connect well with people from all walks of life. To this day, she carries so many of her experiences from being a police officer with her.

Here's what you can expect!

"Caitlyn is a bold, creative, and strategic leader. She never fails to deliver work that truly excites! Her professionalism is unmatched, but what makes it unique is her attention to relationships and people. I highly recommend Caitlyn as a leader, mentor, and communication professional."
